Who is the course for
You want to learn how to easily backup and also restore your IT environment with a modern GUI. You are an IT professional with heart and soul and have mastered the basics of a backup in IBM Spectrum Protect. Maybe you have already attended the Spectrum Protect courses "IBM Spectrum Protect 8.1.12 Implementation and Administration (TS619G)" and "IBM Spectrum Protect 8.1.13 Advanced Administration, Tuning, and Troubleshooting (TS629G)". Then this 4-day course is just right for you.
What you will learn in this course
With IBM Spectrum Protect Plus, we introduce you to software that helps you secure your company's VMs or applications, as well as various databases, in a modern and agentless way. You will learn everything about the installation, configuration and administration of IBM Spectrum Protect Plus.
We will give you a basic overview of the solution's features and requirements. In further lectures and practical exercises you will get to know the components of the data protection environment. You will independently add providers and create individual SLA policies to specifically control your backup data flow.
You'll link providers with policies to protect data in file systems and VMs, a variety of applications and databases. Add to that backups of Kubernetes and OpenShift containers. You will configure and manage user access to the system and providers being protected. You'll manage jobs, schedule, create custom reports, and prepare for troubleshooting and disaster recovery.
In addition, you will learn how to integrate your Spectrum Protect servers with Spectrum Protect Plus, allowing you to continue using a tape library, for example.
