Malware

Malicious software (malware for short) is a collective term for programms whose purpose is to infiltrate devices, steal data or cause disruptions. The most common term for this is viruses, but this is only one type of malware, which often differs significantly in terms of type and function (worms, rootkits, adware, etc.).

The most common security vulnerability continues to be careless users, whether it be clicking on an email link without thinking or opening a PDF in the same email. The malicious software then establishes itself on the affected computer and spreads further throughout the network (e.g. by independently sending emails to contacts and colleagues with malicious software attached).
