04. April 2023, 14-15 Uhr — Online | Without reservation

Backup on-premise - or in the cloud? Which product do you use for VMware backup?
Backup for virtual environments and what matters for business continuity, we clarify in this ELET

Backup for VMware

Virtualization has some key advantages, so that cloud computing with the use of VMware in companies - on-premise, or in the public cloud - is now generally used as standard. For example, virtual machines pay off in terms of high scalability with relatively low utilization of server capacities - key words business continuity and disaster recovery. Before selecting a solution, however, it is advisable to first consider the relevant contexts in order to control the backup in a targeted manner, since virtual machines behave dynamically in relation to physical hosts - possible problems can also arise in this way during the backup.

In ELET, we first will distinguish the main conditions that come into play during backup for VMs. This also depends on which objectives / requirements the backup is to fulfill. An important point here is the recovery. Once the criteria have been clarified, it is a matter of making the right choice as to which solution is the right one.

We make the search easier and narrow the topic down to three strong partners for you in the ELET on April 4: IBM Spectrum Protect Plus / Data Protection for SPVE, Veeam and Cohesity.

We will present the solutions and outline the key criteria, benefits and licensing models.
