Veeam Data Resilience Maturity Model (DRMM)
Veeam has developed its own DRMM in collaboration with McKinsey & Partners, experts from MIT and the IT industry. It is divided into four levels
- Basic – Reactive & Manual
- Intermediate – Reliable But Limited
- Advanced – Mature & Adaptive
- Best-in-class – Self-optimising
Veeam DRMM serves as a framework for determining your own resilience within your company.
Veeam AI Roadmap – Integration for Anthropics MCP (Model Context Protocol)
This is intended to enable AI systems to securely access data backed up in Veeam and use it for analysis.
With MCP integration, customers can now use their backup data for a variety of AI-powered use cases, including:
- Identifying and retrieving related documents with natural language queries
- Summarising conversations from archived emails or tickets
- Automating compliance and e-discovery processes
- Enriching AI agents and co-pilots with company-specific context

Future innovations for Veeam Data Cloud (VDC)
Veeam has revealed its planned innovations for VDC. These complement the current offering of Azure Backup, M365 Backup, Veeam Vault and the very recent integrations of Salesforce and Entra ID with the following components:
- Support for Microsoft Planner
- Veeam Data Protection on VDC
- Kubenetes
Veeam V13: Demo and technical deep dive.
During VeeamON, Veeam once again revealed further technical details about the future V13. Among other things, the failover concept (PostgreSQL replication) and the simple installation of the appliance under Linux were discussed in more detail.
When version v13 is released in Q4 2025, both Veeam Backup & Replication Server (VBR) and Veeam Enterprise Manager (VEM) will be available as ISOs for installation. In addition, there will be ISOs for pre-configured proxy and repository servers, which – like VBR and VEM – will be set up under Rocky Linux with JeOS (Just Enough OS). When using these OVAs (Open Virtual Appliances), complete OS patching will also be handled by VBR.
And of course, the best part – starting with v13, Veeam will also offer a dark mode!
